Axes

Axes are one of the basic hand tools which can be equipped by the player.

Uses

Axes are used to fell trees, clear tree stumps (including burned stumps), and disassembling ruined fixtures. They are also a potent choice in combat.

Deforesting

Striking a tree will deal some damage to the trunk. After several strikes, the tree will fall and shatter into smaller logs. Striking each of these logs once yields wood , leaves, and possibly some seeds of the appropriate species. This process leaves behind a stump, which can also be removed. Clearing a burned stump yield 1-3 charcoal.

Combat

Holding the left-click button before striking will cause the axe to deal extra damage on the down-swing. Striking with an axe with its action marker in the yellow zone can knock an enemy down, and four consecutive action swings will send the next enemy flying back with massive damage.

Holding down the right mouse button with an axe equipped will block incoming damage.
