Pickaxes

Pickaxes are one of the basic hand tools which may be equipped by the player.

Uses

Mining

Pickaxes are used to gather from large rock-type resource nodes found on islands, including:

• Stone
• Windstone Crystal
• Hardstone
• Salt Crystal

While mining, the pickaxe's action bar will appear. Consecutive strikes will in the yellow zone can execute an area-of-effect swing which damages all nearby rock-type resource nodes. This combo action can save some time when gathering from groups of nodes in caves.

Combat

Pickaxes are a suboptimal choice of weapon due to their slow speed. Holding a left-click before swinging increases the damage dealt to an enemy or resource, and holding right-click initiates a block against incoming damage.
