Worm

Worms are insects with unique properties.

Obtaining

Check the Field Guide to determine if a healthy island has worms in its ecosystem. If it does, use a dorkip to dig in the soil. As long as you do not already have a worm in your immediate inventory, there is a good chance you will produce one worm.

After obtaining a worm, you may use it to build a worm bin from which you can later collect an infinite supply of worms.

Properties

Like all insects, worms are used to during the restoration of collapsed ecosystems. However, they are unique in the following respects:

• They can be released in any biome, unlike the beetle variants.
• In addition to increasing the insect diversity ratio, worms are also a natural decomposer.

These properties make worms a very desirable and efficient choice for quickly restoring islands with plentiful resources, as they can always fill two roles.
