Researching via the Research Lab is a key way to upgrade and advance your gear.
The Research Lab is the base for research and is also used as the location to place the Upgrade Station and Brewing Lab.
There are 3 tiers of research you need to unlock before being able to craft the cure:

Researching
Tier 1 Fungicide: Research cost Mykter Fibre x50
Tier 2 Antidote: Research cost Intact Mykter Sample x 30
Tier 3 Cure: Research cost Injured Mykter Sample x 75
Brewing
The Brewing Lab can be placed on the right hand side of the Research Lab and is used to craft the Mykter coatings
- Mykter Fungicide (Milk, Garlic or Carrot or Potato or Mushroom[1])
- Mykter Antidote (Mykter Fungicide, Garlic or Mushroom[2])
- Mykter Cure (Mykter Antidote, Garlic)
Upgrading
The Upgrade Station can be placed on the left hand side of the Research Lab and is used to apply coatings to weapons/tools
By killing enemies with each coating you can obtain different Mykter samples which are then used to research higher tiers of coatings. Mykter Fungicide gets Intact Mykter Sample Mykter Antidote gets Injured Mykter Sample Mykter Cure gets Cleansed Mykter Sample[3]
