Summary
Used as fuel for campfires, filtering water, and writing. - Inventory Description
Charcoal is a basic resource in Aloft. This blackened wood can be used in crafting decorations, fires, and two different Tools. Currently, there is only one source for charcoal. It cannot be made, only found.
Obtaining
Found in all biomes, charcoal is obtained through breaking down blackened stumps with any type of axe.
These stumps can be in countered as 1, 2, or 3 stumps in a group.
Uses
Charcoal is used in the following ways:
Blueprints
- Campfire: 5 wood, 6 stone, 3 charcoal
- Fireplace: 3 wood, 12 stone, 3 charcoal (Note: 1 charcoal is needed to light the fire)
- Leaf Lantern: 1 wood, 5 leaf cloth, 1 charcoal
- Hanging Leaf Lantern: 1 wood, 5 leaf cloth, 1 rope, 1 charcoal
Crafting
- Clean Water: 1 dirty water, 1 charcoal
- Torch: 1 wood, 1 charcoal
- Sketchbook: 2 wood, 1 paper, 1 charcoal
Other Notes
- The charcoal stumps are a prime location for finding insects such as Ladybugs and Blue Beetles.
