Dangerous and colorful mushrooms grow on some corrupted islands. Learn how to develop treatments for the various forms of the fungi, and heal the ecosystem. Get access to new animal companions, livestock, crops, and resources.
Corruption is a state of islands found in Aloft. Corrupted islands contain nodes and enemies that will attack the player. To fully interact with the island and resources that may be found on these islands, the corruption nodes must be destroyed.
Cleansing an Island
To cleanse an island from its corruption, locate and defeat the Corruption Nodes by attacking their weak points and destroying their cores. Cores become available to attack once the player has damaged the exterior cores of the Corruption Node. On some Corrupted islands, Red fungi pose a special danger - approaching them will make them explode, dealing damage to everything around them. Corruption comes in 3 strains, each tougher than the last.
